报告内容:

Optical imaging and sensing are routinely used in everyday life to remotely identify objects. Raman spectroscopy is a powerful spectroscopic technique, which allows analysis of chemical composition and structure of materials without any need for sample preparation. With all the advantages, a significant drawback of Raman spectroscopy is its low efficiency, which makes analysis of low-concentrated solutions and gaseous species rather challenging.

I will show how a 150-years old technique based on the use of integrated cavities can be successfully combined with modern Raman spectroscopy tools to achieve an unprecedented sensitivity of detection. I will describe the operating principle of an integrated cavity, demonstrate some potential applications, and explain how Raman spectroscopy can be used in the most efficient way for environmental sensing [1-3].
